Meet your Panellists:
Maire Sogabe
Máire Sogabe is a leader with extensive experience in technology, cyber security, and innovation in the energy and financial services industries. She has led the development of solutions to advance digital transformation and enable the Internet of Things. The products spanned Digital Mobility, Geospatial Technologies, Cloud Enablement, Data & Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Critical Infrastructure Protection
She is currently consulting in cyber security at a global energy company based in Texas and living in Okinawa, Japan.
She is a two-time hackathon winner and founded the PG&E Employee Innovation group. She was awarded the Silicon Valley 50 Award 2018 from the Irish Technology Leader Group in Silicon Valley.
She serves as the President of the Irish Network Bay Area, a business networking organization in the Bay Area, where she shares her passion for emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and startups.
Máire holds a M.A. in Community Development from the NUI Galway, and a M.Sc. in Information Systems from Golden Gate University, in California.
Máire is originally from the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry, Ireland but her permanent base is San Francisco.
Peter Rawlinson
Pete is CMO of Workvivo, a leading employee engagement and communications technology provider based in Ireland. Pete is responsible for the branding, positioning and promotion of the company globally and is a frequent panel participant on employee engagement and company culture topics. Pete was formerly CMO of cybersecurity company Malwarebytes, and disaster recovery tech provider Datto in the US.
John Riordan
John Riordan is Director of Support for Shopify and is based in Ireland. He also serves as Chairman of Shopify International Ltd.
John leads a variety of different customer support teams for Shopify, including groups in Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and Lithuania as well as the Philippines, Japan and China. All of John’s teams work from home, a business model he has been an evangelist for over the last 20 years in the US, UK and Ireland. He spent much of his career in the US - working for Apple, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Arise Virtual Solutions and US Airways.
In 2010 John and his family returned to his hometown of Cork, Ireland where he now resides with his wife and two teenagers. John also serves on the board of Grow Remote, an organisation advocating for remote work and the board of Sanctuary Runners which focuses on the integration of asylum seekers and refugees.
